According to SMM's assessment, China's first-grade sodium pyroantimonate production in August 2025 is expected to drop approximately 8.93% MoM. After months of significant fluctuations, the output rebounded in June but pulled back for two consecutive months in July and August, highlighting the seasonal challenges of summer off-season demand. Market participants view this as normal, given that July-August traditionally marks the order off-season for PV glass producers, coupled with overall weak antimony prices. Detailed data shows that among SMM's 13 surveyed producers, 4 were in shutdown or trial operation in August, while 1 reported modest production growth. However, most producers maintained stable or reduced output, contributing to the slight MoM decline. Market expectations suggest limited likelihood of further declines in September. With the arrival of the peak season, output is more likely to stabilize or rebound slightly.
Note: Since July 2023, SMM has published its national sodium pyroantimonate production assessment. With high industry coverage, SMM surveys 13 producers across 6 provinces, representing over 86,000 mt of total sample capacity (99% coverage rate).
